The 4Strings Music Festival is a chamber music program devoted to string players of all levels emphasizing performance skills, musicianship, technique, and tone production. Master classes with internationally acclaimed violinist Ann Setzer, of The Juilliard School and Sean Yoo, recording and audiovisual specialist, will educate students on important issues such as technique, musicianship and tone production.

Admission

Welcome to the 4Strings Music Festival’s Admissions Office information section. We are here to answer your questions, and walk you through the application process.
The application for admission is located on our website and is completed online for your convenience. It is a three-step process. Just fill out the application form, upload your audition audio or video, and pay the application processing fee to apply. You will receive confirmation via email of the receipt of your materials. The Admissions Office will be in contact with you shortly thereafter to let you know if you have been accepted into the program. At that time an acceptance letter and an enrollment package will be sent to you.

This year our admission deadline in Feb 1, 2024. There is non-refundable application fee of $100.00 per applicant.

Audition Requirements

We are accepting students ages 9 and above who demonstrate the ability to read music and have studied their instrument for at least two years.

Please upload a file of your most recent polished performance for review by our faculty for chamber music placement purposes. If you are currently studying with one of our faculty members you do not need to send an audition video. (High Quality Video is preferred but not required.

Fees

  • A non-refundable application processing fee of $100.00 is required with your application.
  • Festival Session per person is $3,500.
  • A 50% deposit is required upon enrollment.
  • Payment in full is required by March 31, 2024.
  • Please note that if paying by PayPal, we will bill you for the additional processing fee of 3% of the total.

We now accept Zelle payments. With Zelle, there is no additional processing fee. Please pay to: violin77@gmail.com in the email address search.

Daily Schedule for Students

Private Lessons, Chamber Coaching, Private Practice, Practice Coaching

Students can have their private lessons or chamber sessions during the morning or afternoon. Practice will be held in student’s rooms or in a monitored designated practice area. All rooms have air conditioning. Parents will assist their own children (age 9 and under) during practice sessions. For students ages 10 and above, some assistance may be available during practice sessions.

Each student has the flexibility to customize their program to suit their needs. Additional private lessons and some practice coaching sessions are available.

Daily Student Schedule (subject to change)

  • 8:00am to 8:45am (Buffet Breakfast)
  • 8:45am to 9:15am (Stretching or Yoga Session)
  • 9:30am to 12:30pm (Practice Time, Lessons, Coaching Sessions)
  • 12:30pm to 1:30pm (Lunch)
  • 1:30pm to 2:30pm (Classical Music Educational Enrichment)
  • 2:30pm to 3:30pm (Practice Time, Coaching Sessions)
  • 3:30pm to 6:30pm (Free Time, Recreation, or Additional Practice Time)
  • 6:30pm to 7:30pm (Dinner)
  • 7:30pm (Evening Program)
  • 10:00pm (Curfew for Minors)
  • 11:00pm (Quiet hours for all other)

Sports, Recreation, Field Trips

Daily sporting activities may include tennis, swimming, soccer, hiking, yoga, fitness, and ping pong. There may be special off campus outings planned to recreational centers in the nearby area.

Evening Programs

This year we will have a Special Master Class with Ann Setzer of The Juilliard School. In addition Sean Yoo will conduct a Master Class about digital sound analysis.

A Karaoke Night and Campfire Night are also scheduled.

Our festival is held at the Honor’s Haven Resort, which is conveniently located 90 minutes from New York City, tucked away in the Catskill Mountains on 250 exquisite acres.
